April 3, 2009
ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Leslie Riegle has been named Director of Regulatory Affairs for the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). In her role, she will focus on airport environmental and general aviation issues and lend support to her department's airport operations and safety-related work.
“Leslie's background and extensive experience with aviation regulatory, economic and labor issues make her a valuable addition to AAAE,” said AAAE Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Melissa Sabatine. “She has worked closely with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders, and has a broad understanding of key issues that affect airports.”
Prior to joining AAAE, Riegle was a legislative and public policy advisor at the law firm Arnold & Porter LLP, handling aviation, energy and the environment. Prior to this role, she worked with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of the Inspector General, in the areas of competition and economic analysis.
Riegle also worked as a senior consultant for Eclat Consulting, where she contributed to various economic and financial analyses for airports and airlines. She also advised the Federal Aviation Administration and major airlines on the financial aspects of labor negotiations.
Riegle holds a Master of Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, and graduated with honors from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts.
