Gulf Shore International Breaks Ground on $15M Terminal Expansion

GUF

Gulf Shores International has broken ground on its $15 million terminal expansion, launching a fast‑moving construction effort aimed at meeting the airport’s passenger growth. June 2026 set a new all‑time passenger record at the Alabama airport, the highest performing month since airline service began in May 2025. The improved terminal, which the airport aims to open before next summer’s flight schedule which begins in May 2027, will feature an outdoor patio, a mothers’ nursing area and expanded food, beverage and retail offerings.

Port of Seattle Approves Initial Funding for Next Phase of Airport Modernization

SEA

The Port of Seattle Commission has authorized initial funding for the next  significant modernization project at Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA) — the S Concourse Evolution — with major construction scheduled to start
in 2027. As part of the $5.5 billion  Upgrade SEA capital improvement  program, the estimated $2.5 billion S Concourse renovation will transform a 1973 facility into a world-class concourse that primarily serves international travelers, according to the  airport. The project repurposes, in part, the customs area vacated when the  International Arrivals Facility opened in 2022. The modernization will add 150,000 square feet, including a new Upper Concourse Level, improved dual-level boarding operations for select gates and expanded dining, retail, lounge and passenger amenities.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Opens New, Expanded Gate Area

PHX

Phoenix Sky Harbor International has opened a newly expanded gate area in the airport’s Terminal 3 South Concourse. The space features a fully refreshed holdroom, with a larger seating area, new escalators, restroom facilities, food and beverage options and charging ports. One of the updated gates is used by Terminal  3’s regional/commuter airlines: Advanced Air, Denver Air and Southern Airways. Opening the expanded gate area also provides additional overflow capacity for all airlines at Sky Harbor. They will be scheduled on a contingency/overflow basis only, as needed, to relieve gate congestion.
