The Airport Consortium on Transformation (ACT) drives innovation by turning industry challenges into actionable solutions. Through collaboration and a dynamic network of partners, ACT empowers members to transform airport operations and shape a resilient aviation future.
October 2025 Update
ACT Hosts Business Intelligence Insights Workshop in Phoenix
Earlier this month, PA Consulting led an ACT Business Intelligence Insights Workshop at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). The session advanced the efforts of an ACT task force developing a centralized, AI-powered platform designed to deliver actionable insights across key airport functions such as RFP/RFQ development, procurement optimization, airline lease benchmarking, and financial analysis. The workshop convened representatives from five ACT member airports - PHX, BOI, LAWA, APF, and SAN - to collaborate on the next phase of tool development. Ian Law, Chief Innovation and Experience Officer at Los Angeles World Airports, continues to serve as the ACT airport champion for this initiative, guiding the program toward data-driven solutions that strengthen business intelligence across the aviation industry.
Powering the Future: Airports and the Drive Toward Electrification
Earlier this year, ACT, in partnership with Siemens, released an Insights Brief highlighting thought leadership from the ACT Airport Electrification Task Force. Now available on ACT’s Research Page, the publication - featuring ACT’s refreshed brand design - encourages airports to explore new strategies that support their journey toward a more sustainable, electrified future.
Key takeaways for airports in their drive toward electrification highlight practical strategies for success, from partnering with utilities and implementing microgrids to boosting energy efficiency and fortifying cybersecurity. Read more here.
AAM Task Force Nears eVTOL Planning Deliverable
The ACT Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Task Force, led by Woolpert, is finalizing a virtual guidebook and GIS story map designed to help airports plan for eVTOL integration. This resource will provide practical guidance and visibility into how other airports are approaching AAM implementation across the country.
Special thanks to the 11 participating ACT member airports for contributing their insights and experiences to this first iteration, which reflects the latest industry research and airport best practices shaping the future of advanced air mobility.

ACT Innovation Events bring together airport and industry leaders to share forward-thinking approaches that are shaping the future of aviation. These gatherings give members the chance to see emerging technologies in action - from autonomous Waymo vehicles at Phoenix Sky Harbor to Joby Aviation’s eVTOL aircraft and beyond. Each event highlights real-world innovation and provides valuable opportunities to exchange ideas and bring actionable insights back to their airports. Think of them as industry field trips - learning about new technology outside the classroom, whether at the airport or in the laboratory.
Members interested in hosting an ACT Innovation Event in 2026 are encouraged to contact AAAE staff to learn more about showcasing their innovation story.
