Through collaboration and a dynamic partner network, ACT’s call-to-action is to mobilize its members to transform shared challenges into actionable, results-oriented innovation resources for airports.
Monday, August 24 | Omni Oklahoma City Hotel, Oklahoma
Join ACT and the Oklahoma Aerospace Institute for Research and Education for an interactive innovation engagement event exploring the real-world applications of UAS technologies and their impact on airport operations. Held in conjunction with the Airport Operations & Technology Symposium, the event features live demonstrations and discussions on weather observation, drone delivery, and counter-UAS technologies.
The ACT Insights Pilot Program has entered its onboarding phase, with 18 airports actively participating in the initiative. Participating airports are now logging into the platform, running simulations, and testing procurement-related prompts as the group works to validate the tool's value for the airport community.
The platform is powered by an airport-specific large language model (LLM) and currently leverages more than 2,500 publicly available procurement documents contributed by participating airports. Together, these resources create a powerful knowledge base to support procurement research, benchmarking, and informed decision-making.
ACT's Airport Digitization Initiative continues to advance with strong airport engagement. The effort is focused on developing an Airport Digitization Maturity Assessment Tool that will help airports benchmark technology adoption, identify gaps and opportunities, and establish actionable roadmaps for improvement. The initiative aims to support industry-wide collaboration while providing airports with practical insights to accelerate their digital transformation efforts.
Airport AI Hub Development Continues
The ACT Artificial Intelligence Task Force continues to advance the Airport AI Hub, a one-stop resource for AI knowledge sharing across the airport community. The platform will provide guidance on AI applications, policy development, legal and regulatory considerations, compliance tools, and implementation roadmaps, while enabling airports to learn from shared use cases and industry best practices.
Smart Landside Initiative Hosts Inaugural Call
Congestion management and ground transportation center operations have emerged as top concerns for airports across the country. In response, the ACT Smart Landside Initiative held its inaugural meeting, bringing together airports and industry partners to begin the conversation around developing a practical, airport-driven resource that shares effective landside strategies and solutions for airports of all sizes.
Airside Training Initiative Featured at AAAE Winter Operations Management Conference
Carl Braley, A.A.E., Chief Operating Officer at Fortbrand Services, leads a discussion with airports on ACT’s Airside Training initiative.
The ACT Airside Training Task Force recently shared preliminary research findings at AAAE's Winter Operations Management Conference in Salt Lake City. Drawing on input from participating ACT airports, the task force highlighted key challenges related to workforce development, training scalability, standardization, and technology adoption. The session generated valuable feedback from airport operators and industry partners that will help inform the development of a practical framework designed to improve training effectiveness and operational safety across the industry.
ACT’s success depends on the engagement and support of our broader airport community. We invite you to stay connected across the association’s innovation focus areas and contribute to ongoing discussions as we work to deliver new solutions, resources, and insights for airports.
