Polaris: On-Ramps, Intersections and Exit Routes
Airlines are used in transporting hundreds of thousands of migrant workers from all over the world to the United States every year. For instance, a 2014 Urban Institute report indicates that 71 percent of their surveyed sample of labor trafficking victims arrived in this country via airplane before they were trafficked. Knowing the flight patterns offers other potential avenues for outreach.

Press Release: AAAE Partners With DHS and DOT to Combat Human Trafficking
Alexandria, Va. – The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security (DHS) and Transportation (DOT) in support of the Blue Lightning Initiative (BLI), which trains airport tenants and staff on how to identify potential traffickers and human trafficking victims, and to report their suspicions to federal law enforcement.
