From ICAO to Airports: A Global Exchange with Regional Aviation Leaders

Lima, Peru - IAAE convened a dynamic gathering of global airport executives and aviation leaders on Sunday, June 29, 2025, for its Leadership Update Meeting at the Hilton Lima Miraflores. The session delivered a fast-paced hour of strategic dialogue, international insights, and regional updates that spotlighted both global progress and local innovation in aviation.

The session opened with welcoming remarks from Kevin Bumen, A.A.E., C.A.E., IAAE Chair and AAAE Secretary/Treasurer, who provided a clear overview of IAAE’s mission and momentum.

Following participant introductions, Holly Ackerman, Associate Vice President of Global Operations at AAAE, delivered key updates on IAAE’s international programs and conferences, highlighting the expanding global engagement and new opportunities for collaboration.

Fabio Rabbani, Regional Director of ICAO’s South American Office, A powerful regional briefing was presented by who shared valuable ICAO perspectives on aviation progress and policy trends across South America.

One of the meeting’s most dynamic segments was the Airport Regional Updates, moderated by Kevin Bumen, and featuring insights from:

  • Norbert Onkelbach, Jorge Chávez International Airport (Peru)
  • Jeffrey Mulder, A.A.E., OKC Airport Trust (U.S.)
  • Davon Munnings, CPA, Airport Authority of the Bahamas
  • Ronald Schaefer, IATA Consulting
