Editor’s Corner
One of the things I love most about my job is getting out of the office to a half dozen or so AAAE conferences and Airport Consortium on Transformation (ACT) workshops across the country. Each event provides an opportunity to learn from those in the industry, network and see a growing list of friends from airports and companies across the country.
Two stories in this issue are a direct result of being in the field. This month’s cover story by Ryan Reeves from Chandler Municipal (page 14) came from a presentation I saw him give during a session at AAAE’s General Aviation (GA) Conference. While Chandler is a GA airport, the stories and lessons Reeves shares can be applied at airports of any size.
The GA conference was held in Arlington, Texas. While in North Texas, I made a side trip to see the latest development plans at Dallas Love Field Airport and was impressed with what I saw. That’s why on Page 20, Spokesperson Patrick Clarke talks about the development of, and execution of, Love Field’s master plan.
I’ll be back on the road in 2026 and look forward to connecting with all of you and helping to tell your stories.
Sincerely,
Brian Kalish
