Alaska Airlines to Add Service from Seattle to London and Reykjavik

Alaska Airlines has announced plans to add service from its hub at Seattle-Tacoma International to both London, England and Reykjavik, Iceland, starting in the spring of 2026.

The route to London will use a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The airline also debuted a new livery that will be used only on its Dreamliner fleet, which will debut in January 2026 and draws inspiration from the natural wonder of the Aurora Borealis, according to the airline. The route to Iceland will fly daily during the summer season using a Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.

Bush Intercontinental Expands Rideshare Pickup Zone at Terminal C

In anticipation of future growth, Houston Airports has expanded the rideshare pickup zone at George Bush Intercontinental Airport’s Terminal C. The new design doubles the size of the rideshare zone entrance and exit, more than doubles the linear feet for curb space and reduces passenger wait times and congestion by offering more space for vehicles to drive through.

Tampa International Opens New Express Curbsides

Tampa International has opened its new Red Express Curbsides. The new curbs mirror TPA’s Blue Express Curbsides and allow travelers who are not checking bags and have electronic boarding passes to skip the Ticketing level when departing and the Baggage Claim level when arriving. The project includes four additional Arrivals lanes and four additional Departures lanes, doubling the number of express lanes from eight to 16. The curbs are part of an expansion that adds more than 65,000 square feet of space to the facility, including a larger transfer level on the third floor of the Main Terminal and a shuttle lobby for the future Airside D.

Miami Regional Opens New Terminal

Miami Regional in Oklahoma has opened a $3.28 million, 4,000 square foot new terminal. The project was initially approved as part of the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) Airport Construction Plan in 2023. The building cost was covered by $1 million from the ODAA, a little more than $1 million from the FAA and $1.2 million from the City of Miami and Miami Special Utility Authority.

China Airlines to Add Service to Phoenix Sky Harbor International

China Airlines has announced plans to add a new route between its hub at Taoyuan International in Taiwan to Phoenix Sky Harbor International using an Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The route will begin on December 3, 2025, and mark the first flights to Asia for the Arizona airport. The outbound flight will operate nonstop from Taipei to Phoenix. For the return leg, flight CI035 from Phoenix to Taipei will make a stopover in Los Angeles before continuing onto Taipei.
