Orlando International to Replace, Modernize Gate Link System
MCO
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority has begun work on a $253 million project to replace Orlando International’s aging Gate Link tram system serving Gates 70 to 129. The project, which will continue through fall 2027, will replace the Gate Link with state-of-the-art technology and new tram vehicles. The overhaul, to be done in phases, will introduce four brand-new Gate Link vehicles connecting passengers between Terminals A and B to gates on Airside 2 and Airside 4. Crews will also upgrade the entire supporting infrastructure, from running surfaces and operating systems to power distribution, vehicle controls, communication networks and platform screen doors.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Completes Largest Ever Renovation of Terminal 1
MSP
The largest-ever interior renovation of Terminal 1 concourses and passenger gate areas at Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) is now complete. The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), owner and operator of MSP, and Delta Air Lines collaborated on the Airport Modernization Program, a $242 million construction project managed by Delta to create a unified and modern design across six of the terminal’s seven concourses and approximately 75 Delta gate hold rooms. The extensive renovations began in fall 2023. Some notable improvements include new terrazzo or carpet flooring, wall finishes, LED lighting and improved building systems, which are mostly enclosed above new metal panel ceilings. The Delta gate areas underwent a full refresh, including new seating, carpeting, counters and signage. One of the most visible enhancements is the addition of dynamic gate signs along the concourse walkways, which allow passengers to see flight and destination information more quickly and from farther down the concourse.
