Denver International to Add Pedestrian Walkways Connecting Concourses

Denver International plans to construct pedestrian walkways between its three concourses. The Colorado airport
will repurpose portions of its existing underground baggage tunnels for the pedestrian walkways, which were
determined to be the best alternative option to the train for passengers to travel between Concourse A to B and
B to C. Project details are being finalized, with construction expected to begin in 2027.
Duluth Airport Breaks Ground on New Air Traffic Control Tower

The Duluth Airport Authority has broken ground on a new Air Traffic Control Tower at Duluth International. The existing tower at the Minnesota airport, one of approximately 30 locally owned, federally staffed air traffic control facilities in the nation, is among the oldest operating air traffic control facilities in the U.S. and no longer meets current FAA design standards for tower height, line-of-sight requirements, facility size or airfield siting. Construction of the new tower is expected to be completed in spring 2028.
Dulles International Previews New Concourse

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority hosted a preview for media of the under-construction Concourse E at Washington Dulles International. The 14 narrowbody/seven widebody gate Concourse E is set to open this fall
and will serve domestic and international flights for United Airlines, which operates a hub at Dulles. The concourse includes 46,000 square feet of concessions space, which was turned over to concession operators in April for tenant buildout. Media also visited what will become one of the largest United Club’s in the airline’s network, a 40,000 square foot airline space, themed to Washington, D.C.
First Phase to Upgrade Newark Liberty's Terminal B Approved

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Board of Commissioners has authorized $75 million in
near-term improvements at Newark Liberty International’s Terminal B. The authorization is the first phase of a broader three-year, $200 million program included in the agency’s 2026-2035 Capital Plan to modernize and
maintain the facility until the new Terminal B opens in the mid-2030s.
Miami International Announces Plan for $33M AOC and Digital Monitoring Hub

Miami International (MIA) has unveiled plans and renderings for the airport’s new state-of-the-art Airport Operations Center (AOC) and Digital Monitoring Hub. Scheduled for completion in 2027, the $33 million, 13,254 square foot operations and emergency response facility will be equipped with AI-powered long-range pan-tilt-zoom cameras, real-time digital tower technology and a HD-quality integrated panoramic video wall, providing 360-degree visibility of MIA’s airside, landside and terminal areas for security and safety awareness.
