A Look Back and Forward at Innovation

Aviation innovation has come a long way in 10 years. Yet, there's always more to do and I'm excited to share a sneak peek into the Innovation Track for the 2025 AAAE/ACC Airport Planning, Design, & Construction Symposium in San Antonio, TX this March.

When AAAE launched the Airport Innovation Accelerator in 2015, less than five airports in the U.S. had "innovation" as a formal responsibility. The inaugural Airport Innovation Forum had amazing speakers from Deloitte and the Consumer Technology Association, yet only logged 150 registered attendees!

Today, airport shave dedicated c-suite innovation leaders with the resources and expectations to transform their airports and the industry; and the Symposium attracts nearly 2,000 expert attendees!

Our 2025 Innovation Track aims to equip industry leaders with practical knowledge and lessons to capitalize on innovation and emerging technology with the following topics:

  • True Airport Intelligence: Unlocking the Power of AI and Digital Transformation

  • Hyper Personalization: Optimizing the Passenger Experience Across Traveler Needs & Preferences

  • Practical Mobility: Where and When AAM Fits into an Airport Ecosystem

  • Revenue Generation: Creative Ways to Make Money in Airports

  • AAAE Airport Consortium on Transformation (ACT) — Topic TBD

Be sure to track our progress on confirming expert speakers, learning objectives, and "innovative" engagement opportunities to shape the Innovation Track.

This post is brief because there's so much more to come. For now, on behalf of AAAE and ACC, and the 2025 Innovation Track, we look forward to seeing you in March!
