About the Workshop

This workshop is designed to help candidates understand and navigate the writing requirement of the accreditation process. Participants will explore all four writing options—Proctored Executive Memo, Proctored Essay, Management Paper, and Case Study—and receive guidance on choosing the best fit for their experience and writing style. The workshop covers key processes, topic selection, writing techniques, and formatting tips, including proper AI usage. Attendees will review sample submissions, work with a writing coach, and gain valuable insights from the Board of Examiners to strengthen their approach and build confidence in their selected appraoch to this stage in the process.

All active AAAE members enrolled in the A.A.E. program who have not completed the writing portion and do not have an advanced degree are encouraged to participate.

Requirements to register for the workshop:

  • Current membership in AAAE
  • Active candidacy in the A.A.E. program
  • Payment of the $100 administrative fee for those enrolled in the A.A.E. program five years or more

Cancellation Policy:

Registrations, cancellations and refund requests must be submitted in writing to Member.Services@aaae.org. All cancellation requests for paid registrations received on or before Friday, May 9, 2025, are subject to a $125 cancellation processing fee; approved refunds will be processed after the event takes place. There will be no refunds of any kind after this date. Cancellations with outstanding invoices received within two weeks of the start of the event, will require full payment on the balance due. Refunds will not be provided, and balance dues will not be forgiven for no-shows. Substitutions will be accepted with a written request to AAAEmeetings@aaae.org. The individual substituting for the original registrant is responsible for all financial obligations (balance due; difference in fees due to membership type) associated with that substitution. For all inquiries regarding cancellations, refunds and substitutions, please contact the AAAE Meetings Department at 703.824.0500 or email AAAEmeetings@aaae.org. By submitting a completed registration form, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the cancellation policy.

NOTE: AAAE reserves the right to postpone or cancel an event if the number of registrants is insufficient; due to acts of God; or any other reason beyond AAAE’s control. In this event, we will notify all registrants and credit the full registration fee towards another AAAE meeting, product or service. However, any costs incurred by the registrant, such as hotel cancellation or airline penalties, are the responsibility of the registrant. Confirmation letters will be emailed to attendees within two weeks of receipt of registration. However, if you have not received a confirmation email two business days prior to the meeting, and you enrolled at least two weeks prior to the meeting, please contact the AAAE Meetings Department at 703.824.0504 or AAAEmeetings@aaae.org. Please note failure to receive a confirmation letter before an event will not be grounds for a refund.

About the Instructor

Dr. Kim Kenville

Kim Kenville, PhD, C.M.

Dr. Kim Kenville is a professor at the University of North Dakota (UND) and has taught the airport management (BBA) curriculum for the past 27 years. Prior to teaching at UND, Kim worked as a noise abatement intern for the MSP Airport for airport operations at DTW and MKE airports working airside, landside, and terminal operations. In 2005, Kim earned her PhD in Organizational Behavior and Leadership and went on to develop the master’s and PhD programs in the aviation department at UND, where she was the graduate director for 10 years.   She opened Kim Kenville Consulting, a DBE certified consultancy, in 2008 and has authored or co-authored 12 different ACRP reports, sat on various panels and has been a member of the Aviation Gasoline consensus study for the National Academies. She is a governor-appointee for the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission and has served as chair and vice chair in the past. Currently, Dr. Kenville is the vice-chair of the ACRP Oversight Committee and is a regular training consultant for AAAE teaching Airports 101 and the Certified Member (CM) program. Kim is a private pilot, is a certified member of AAAE and she and her husband, Jon Scraper have five children.
