2024 REGISTRATION FEES

Includes all handouts, five continental breakfasts, five lunches and all refreshment breaks. All fees are in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank. The course registration fee does not include AAAE membership or the C.M. or A.A.E. program fee. You must be a member and enrolled in either program to attend.

Cancellation Policy:

Registrations, cancellations and refund requests must be submitted in writing. All cancellation requests for registrations received on or before Friday, November 15, 2024, are subject to a $125 cancellation processing fee; approved refunds will be processed after the meeting takes place. There will be no refunds of any kind after this date. Cancellations with outstanding invoices received within two weeks of the start of the conference, will require full payment on the balance due. Refunds will not be provided, and balance dues will not be forgiven for no-shows. Substitutions within the same conference will be accepted without penalties. The difference between member and non-member price will be charged if a non-member replaces a member. Substitutions will be accepted with a written request to AAAEmeetings@aaae.org. The individual substituting for the original registrant is responsible for all financial obligations (balance due; difference in fees due to membership type) associated with that substitution. For all inquiries regarding cancellations, refunds and substitutions, please contact the AAAE Meetings Department at 703.824.0504 or email AAAEmeetings@aaae.org. By submitting a completed registration form, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the cancellation policy. Please note failure to receive a confirmation letter before an event will not be grounds for a refund or credit.

NOTE: AAAE reserves the right to postpone or cancel an event if the number of registrants is insufficient; due to acts of God; or any other reason beyond AAAE’s control. In this event, we will notify all registrants by email and credit the full registration fee towards another AAAE meeting, product or service. However, any costs incurred by the registrant, such as hotel cancellation or airline penalties, are the responsibility of the registrant. Confirmation letters will be emailed to attendees within two weeks of receipt of registration. However, if you have not received a confirmation email two business days prior to the meeting, and you enrolled at least two weeks prior to the meeting, please contact the AAAE Meetings Department at 703.824.0504 or email AAAEmeetings@aaae.org.

Please note failure to receive a confirmation letter before an event will not be grounds for a refund.

AAAE Media Access Policy:

AAAE reserves the right to grant at their sole discretion access to TV, radio and print media organizations or individuals that have registered and received prior authorization from AAAE at least 72 hours prior to an AAAE event they wish to cover. Due to the sensitive nature of some discussions, not all sessions at some AAAE events will be open to media. AAAE retains the sole right to grant or refuse media access for any event or section of an event it operates. Please direct all inquiries to Brian Kalish.

Rooms are being held at the Sheraton Suites Old Town Alexandria, located at 801 N. St. Asaph Street, Alexandria, VA, phone: 703.836.4700. The Sheraton is located directly across the street from AAAE HQ, where the meeting will take place.

All attendees will receive a special rate of $174 single/double. The last day to receive this discounted rate is Friday, November 8, 2024.  Rooms may sell out before this date, so make your reservations early. Reservations made after this date only can be honored on a space and rate available basis. To make your hotel reservations, you can BOOK ONLINE or call the hotel at 703.836.4700, and reference the AAAE room block. Guaranteed reservations must be canceled 48 hours prior to day of arrival to avoid a penalty of one night's room and tax.

Ground Transportation

Complimentary shuttle service to and from Reagan National Airport and the airport Metro station is available from 6 AM to 11 PM.  Please see the attachment for more information. *Please Note: Shuttle service to Reagan National Airport and Metro Stations is complimentary and provided based on availability. If you arrive after 11 PM taxis are available from Reagan National Airport at a fee of approximately $15-18 USD. Sheraton Suites Parking

Overnight Guests: There is a $32 per night/per vehicle rate for overnight guests. Parking Limitations: Due to the height limit of 6'6", the Sheraton is not able to accept over sized vehicles and rooftop attachments.

Non hotel guests/local attendees: If you are local and will be driving to the Workshop each day, we have a few  guest parking spots available and there is some limited, free street parking nearby. For further information, please email dan.reilly@aaae.org.

 

How to Prepare

Prior to the course, you will need to enroll in the C.M. or A.A.E. program and be sure to read the latest C.M. Body of Knowledge Modules. It is a lot of information, so even reading through the books one time can help. The more time you can commit to preparing ahead of time, the better off you will be when it comes to exam time. If you have not yet received your modules and have ordered hard copies, they are on the way. If you are a member and are enrolled in the C.M. or A.A.E. program, you will have access to the materials online at each program's webpage. You must be logged in to view the tab with the online materials. If you do not know your login information, you can request/reset it here. Your username is most likely your email address. if you are not yet enrolled in one of these programs, you will need to do so to obtain the materials and to attend the course.

Be sure to also download the AAAE mobile app. Within the app you can connect with other attendees, form study groups, and much more.

About the Instructor

Jeff Price

Jeffrey C. Price, C.M.

Jeff Price is a Professor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver, Department of Aviation and Aerospace Science, and the owner of Leading Edge Strategies, an airport management training company. He is considered one of the leading experts in the world in aviation security and airport safety. He is the former assistant security director at Denver International Airport, and former Airport Director of Jefferson County Airport, in Colorado (now known as Rocky Mountain Metro Airport).

Jeff began his professional career as a U.S. Coast Guard Officer. He entered airport management in the Operations Department at Stapleton International Airport in 1992, where he later developed the airfield manager training programs for DEN; he was part of opening the Denver International Airport. At Jeffco Airport he served as the Director of Public Relations, Marketing and Property Management prior to being appointed the airport manager. He also served on the Colorado Aeronautics Board.

Highlights and Achievements

  • Has a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Professional Pilot from the Metropolitan State University of Denver, and is a commercial/instrument rated pilot.

  • Jeff has authored two books:

    • Practical Aviation Security: Predicting and Preventing Future Threats, which is the leading textbook in the industry on the subject and now in its 3rd edition.

    • Practical Airport Operations, Safety and Emergency Management: Protocols for Today and the Future (published 2016).

  • The lead Airport Security Coordinator trainer for the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), he authored Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Security program.

  • Jeff is the lead author of AAAE's Certified Member (C.M.) body of foundational knowledge for an individual to become an Accredited Airport Executive.

  • A certified trainer by both the Anthony Robbins Company and the FranklinCovey Corporation.

    • Under these companies, Jeff has trained over 2,000 Airport Security Coordinators, 800+ TSA Transportation Security Inspectors and thousands of others in airport management, emergency management and airport operations.

  • Jeff is a Certified Protection Professional (C.P.P.) through the American Society of Industrial Security.

  • Through the American Board of Certification in Homeland Security, Jeff is a Certified Aviation Security Professional (C.A.S.) and Certified Homeland Security - Level II member (CHS-II).

  • Education: BS, Professional Pilot, Metropolitan State College of Denver, 1988 MA, Education, Colorado Christian University, 1996  Positions Held: Airport Manager, Jefferson County Airport, Colorado, 1999-2002, Assistant Security Director, Denver International Airport, 1995-1998, Intelligence Officer, USCG 1990-1992.
