Recognizing that a key element of aircraft noise management is noise reduction at the source, this session will feature updates from airlines, engine manufacturers and aircraft manufacturers. We will also hear about the ICAO dual stringency work that requires both noise and air quality improvements be considered in tandem.

Performance Based Navigation (PBN) takes place in four dimensions (X, Y, altitude, and time). And to make PBN flight procedures work, four stakeholder groups each with different "points of view" must work together: FAA, airports, airlines, and international organizations. 

This session will bring together these stakeholders to discuss the design and implementation of flight procedures. We'll take a look at topics such as procedure updates, how to engage the FAA regarding airport-sponsored procedure requests, and useful case studies.

1:15 - 1:45 p.m. 

New entrants and what to expect from them has been a conversation at many previous Noise Conferences. This discussion will consider the reasons that airport staff want to be prepared for those new entrants, such as proactive preparations for compatible land use and potential complaints, and how best to prepare given the known facts and expectations today, in 2024.
