Call for Entries!

 

Theme: the theme of the contest is What Is Due Diligence?

Entry Deadline: entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on August 1, 2024.

Who May Enter: all interested persons over the age of 18 are invited to submit entries for this contest. Only the owner or authorized user of the photograph may submit the entry.

Awards: prizes will be awarded for the following:

First Place: $100 or other recognition for contestants ineligible to win cash prizes.

Second Place: trophy or other recognition

Third Place: trophy or other recognition

Eligibility: any photograph suitable for framing and appropriate for educational and awareness purposes is eligible. Only original photographs will be accepted. Untouched, computer enhanced, retouched or manipulated photographs of the entrant’s original work are acceptable. Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated photos will not be accepted. Entrants are responsible for the legal and ethical integrity of their photograph. A photograph may be rejected, if the photograph appears to be derived without authorization from another’s work or manipulation.

All entrants warrant that their photograph will be their own creation and never plagiarize the work of others, nor infringe upon the copyrights of artists, photographers, or other entities.

Photograph Criteria: photograph must be 8" x 10" either in portrait or landscape orientation and must be submitted in JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

How to Enter: there is a limit of two photographs per contestant that will be accepted. Entry is by electronic digital images only. Entry forms with the photo are to be submitted by email.

Winner Selection: conference participants will vote for one photograph per person and the photograph with the most votes will be declared as the winner. Contestants do not need to be present at the conference to win, but they must provide a mailing address to receive an award. All monetary prizes will be awarded in U.S. dollars (gift card, check, or equivalent).

Release: selected award-winning entries may be reproduced as educational photographs and distributed throughout the aviation industry. Each entry form has a release statement covering certain use of the photograph by Bird Strike Committee USA. This release must be signed by the entrant for each entered work. Failure to sign the release will invalidate the entry.

Entry Forms: completely fill out the electronic entry form. Use one entry form for each submission. Please provide a 100-word (or less) description and a 100-word (or less) biography. Submit the entry form, photo, description, and biography via email. Entries must be proofread, as we will not review this document for correctness.

Your application will not be accepted unless all forms are completely filled out. Do not send any hard copy photographs for submission.

Entry Fee: there is no fee required to submit a photograph for the contest.

Deadlines and Notification: completed entry forms must be received by August 1, 2024. Entries received after this date will not be eligible. Contestants will be notified of their entry acceptance via email by August 5, 2024.
