Poster Contest - Call for Entries
Bird Strike Committee USA serves as the national expert body and liaison to the Federal Aviation Administration, national/international Bird Strike Committees, and to other professional aviation and wildlife organizations. Our mission is dedicated to providing leadership in managing wildlife hazards to aviation. Our primary objective is to facilitate the exchange of information about the management of wildlife hazards and risk to aviation safety.
Aviation professionals are invited to submit artwork on aviation safety, focusing on bird strike reporting, wildlife hazard awareness, and prevention of bird/wildlife strikes at airports. Previous winner and examples can be found on page 2.
Entry Deadline: August 1, 2025
Awards: Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
Eligibility: Any poster suitable for framing and appropriate for educational and awareness purposes is eligible. Only original artwork will be accepted. Artwork generated by Artificial Intelligence will not be accepted. Computer generated art, photographs, computer graphics, or other electronic reproductions of the entrant’s original work are acceptable. All entrants warrant that their work will be their own creation and never plagiarize the work of others, nor infringe upon the copyrights of artists, photographers, or other entities.
How to Enter: There is a limit of two posters per participant. Completed entry forms and digital poster must be received by August 5, 2025. Entries received after that date may not be eligible. Entry is by electronic digital images only, of original art. Electronic entry forms must be submitted by email with the poster to: Jeostrom@gmail.com
Winner Selection: The attendees at the Bird Strike Conference in Minneapolis will vote for their favorite poster.
Release: Selected award-winning entries may be reproduced as educational posters and distributed throughout the aviation industry. Each entry form has a release statement covering certain use of the poster by Bird Strike Committee USA. This release must be signed by the entrant for each entered work.
Entry Forms: Complete the electronic entry form and email with the artwork. Please include in 100 words (or less) a description of the subject matter and in 100 words (or less) your biography. Your entry will not be accepted unless all forms are filled out completely. Do not send hard copies of the original artwork for submission.
Entry Fee: None
Follow-up Notification: Participants will be notified whether their poster has been accepted or not via email by August 5, 2024.
