Duty of Care

AAAE is committed to continuing to provide a safe and healthy environment for all event participants and staff. As always, the Association will comply with all applicable requirements imposed by federal, state, or local health authorities for the locality in which any event is taking place. However, the responsibility for a safe and healthy event environment is shared among the event organizers, event venues, and event attendees. Towards this end, all attendees are expected to comply with all applicable requirements imposed by federal, state, or local health authorities for the locality in which an event is taking place, and in addition to our code of conduct, they are expected to adhere to and abide by any safety precautions AAAE deems necessary to implement to protect attendees.

However, by checking the box when registering for an event, all attendees agree to voluntarily and knowingly accept the risks, both known and unknown, foreseeable and not foreseeable, and assume all responsibility for actions taken while at an event. Each event has certain inherent risks and dangers, and attendees not only agree to participate in each event at their own risk and understand that they assume all risks in connection with the same, but also agree to forever release, hold harmless, discharge, and covenant not to sue AAAE, its officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of, or related to, participation at an event, when they check the box while registering for an event.

Lastly, should an event attendee be injured while participating at an event, the attendee consents to emergency medical treatment and accepts full responsibility for all medical expenses incurred as a result of their participation at such event.

**All AAAE policies, including those contained herein, are subject to change. Should changes be made, a notification will be sent to all registered attendees.
