Action Alert: Please Complete AAAE's Latest Coronavirus Impact Survey
October 14, 2020
Congressional leaders and White House officials are continuing to go back and forth on a possible coronavirus relief package that could include additional funding to help the aviation industry navigate the pandemic. And we need your input.
The Senate is planning to take up a targeted $500 billion coronavirus relief package next week that it not expected to include funding for airports and concessionaries. Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) are continuing their talks on coronavirus relief.
The White House, House Democrats and Senate Republicans are still far apart on the overall cost and priorities. House Democrats have proposed $2.2 trillion, and the White House has countered with $1.8 trillion. It's unclear when the sides will be able to coalesce around a bipartisan plan.
Request: As Washington considers additional coronavirus relief, we continue to receive requests for more information on the impact of the pandemic on commercial service and general aviation airports and their ongoing needs. To help answer those questions and allow us to more effectively advocate on your behalf, we are asking airports to complete a short coronavirus relief impact survey.
The survey results will greatly assist our efforts to gain additional federal support for airports and the aviation industry in the next relief package. Please complete the survey by Friday, October 30.
Thank you for your help and please let us know if you have any questions.
