House Aviation Subcommittee

In addition, it was officially announced that Representatives Garret Graves (R-LA) and Steve Cohen (D-TN) will lead the House Aviation Subcommittee as chair and ranking member respectively. With Congress set to begin debate on this year's FAA reauthorization bill, this subcommittee will play a pivotal role in developing the priorities for what will ultimately be included in the House's version of the bill. The subcommittee will have no time to waste either given Chair Sam Graves' target date of July 1 to pass the FAA bill out of the House, which is an aggressive timeline.

Below is the roster for the Aviation Subcommittee this Congress. While there are many familiar faces, there are also several new members, meaning we will have our work cut out for us to educate new and returning lawmakers on airport priorities for the next FAA Reauthorization bill. While AAAE staff has already hit the ground running on Capitol Hill, we also urge you to continue to reach out to your lawmakers, share your priorities for the next FAA reauthorization bill, and invite them to visit your airport to see first-hand how our joint recommendations would help your airport.
