February 26, 2021
The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, which plays a critical role overseeing aviation and transportation security policy and numerous other high-profile issues, yesterday approved subcommittee assignments, including the Subcommittee on Aviation Safety, Operations, and Innovation and a new Subcommittee on Tourism, Trade, and Export Promotion. Senator Krysten Sinema (D-AZ) will Chair the Aviation Subcommittee and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) will serve as Ranking Republican. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) will Chair the new Tourism Subcommittee and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) will serve as Ranking Republican. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) Chairs the full committee – the first woman to do so – and Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) serves as Ranking Republican.
With yesterday's action, we now have a complete list of committee and subcommittee leaders and rosters for the 117th Congress. We have included links below to those panels for your reference. These committees and members play a key role in determining the outcome of airport priorities in Washington, including coronavirus relief and recovery efforts, infrastructure legislation, and the numerous annual funding and policy issues that impact your operations.
