Action Alert: Senators Urge President to Provide Federal Funds to Airports - Need Your Help Today as Negotiations Continue

March 21, 2020

A bipartisan group of 40 Senators late yesterday sent a letter to the President urging him to help airports dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak. The move comes as we are continuing to make the case that airport funding must be included in the third relief package that Senators and administration officials are negotiating today.

Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) spearheaded the letter that asks the President to work with Congress to ensure that airports have the resources they need to respond to the current crisis. Thirty-nine Senators cosigned the letter including Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and other key lawmakers who are negotiating a third relief package today.

A copy of the Senate letter may be viewed here, and a press release that Shaheen's office issued this morning may be viewed here.
