Airport Alert: Air Travel COVID-19 Testing Requirements to be Lifted Sunday
June 10, 2022
Press is reporting that the White House and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will announce later today that the requirement for air travelers to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test one day before entering the United States will be lifted at 12:01 am on Sunday. This requirement has been in place since January 2021.
The aviation and travel industry, including AAAE, has repeatedly asked for these restrictions to be lifted.
Press reports indicate that CDC will reassess its decision in 90 days and, if officials decide they need to reinstate the negative test requirement because of a concerning new variant, they could do so.
AAAE will provide additional information following the White House announcement and links to the latest CDC resources when available.
