Frequently Asked Questions on Aviation Worker Screening ASP Amendment:

Today, TSA issued a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document on TSA-NA-23-02, Aviation Worker Screening. The document covers a range of questions about roles and responsibilities for aviation worker screening, implementation costs, use of the TSA checkpoint for aviation worker screening, search/screening procedures, resolution procedures, liability, exemptions, Operational Screening Hours, portal definitions, notice and signage, and technology requirements, among other issues.

The FAQs have been posted to HSIN on the ACO-200 board for airport operators under New Postings.

TSA Leadership Announcements:

TSA Chief of Staff Holly Canevari will be stepping into the role of Acting Deputy Administrator effective today. Holly was appointed to Chief of Staff of TSA in March 2021. Canevari replaces Stacey Fitzmaurice who has been serving as the Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Deputy Administrator since January 2021. Fitzmaurice will return to her role as Executive Assistant Administrator for Operations Support. Austin Gould, who served as Acting EAA for Operations Support for the last year and a half, will return to his role as Assistant Administrator for Requirements and Capabilities Analysis.
