Security Policy Alert: TSA Names New Assistant Administrator for Strategic Communications and Public Affairs

TSA has informed AAAE that Andy Post has been appointed as the agency's new Assistant Administrator for Strategic Communications and Public Affairs. In a message to TSA employees, TSA Administrator Pekoske stated that Andy brings with him extensive strategic communications and public relations experience in government, Congress and the private sector.
 
Most recently, Andy served as Director of Public Affairs and Assistant to the Secretary at the Department of Transportation, where he advocated for DOT's mission across the entire transportation system.  Prior to his time at DOT, Andy worked as a Communications Director and Campaign Manager for multiple political campaigns and as a public relations expert for several advocacy organizations.
 
In his message to employees, Administrator Pekoske also recognized and thanked Deputy Assistant Administrator Jim Gregory for his leadership as Acting Assistant Administrator for Strategic Communications and Public Affairs (SCPA) over the past 14 months.  According to Pekoske, Jim and his SCPA team have done an outstanding job in providing robust communications with TSA's workforce and the public, especially during the agency's COVID-19 response.
