    Policy Updates

In case you missed it, last week TSA issued as final TSA-NA-21-04, Perpetual Vetting of Airport Operator Direct Employees and Authorized Representatives Without Security Threat Assessments. This amendment updated the vetting procedures for Category IV airports originally outlined in TSA-NA-18-01, Airport Access and Vetting. As a result, TSA also issued an updated TSA-NA-18-01A, which goes into effect on October 18, 2021. Both National Amendments can be found on HSIN as well as user guide and access form for the Transportation Vetting Portal established under TSA-NA-21-04.

TSA has also posted an updated version of the Frequently Asked Questions related to the face mask requirements. Version 10, dated August 31, 2021, adds language about mask use outdoors in crowded areas in regions with high cases of COVID-19. The updated FAQs can also be found on HSIN under the Security Directive folder.

Finally, as AAAE reported on August 16 (see AAAE Security Policy Alert), TSA has now issued Information Circular 21-01 on Insider Threat Mitigation Program Framework. It can be found on HSIN in the Information Circular folder.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need any additional information prior to tomorrow's call.
