This afternoon Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao indicated that she will resign from her position, effective as of January 11, according to Washington Post, Politico, and other news outlets. Secretary Chao has served in her current position since January 2017. She previously served as U.S. Secretary of Labor from 2001 to January 2009.
