Regulatory Alert: FAA Publishes Aircraft Noise Annoyance Study Results
January 13, 2021
This morning the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) published results from the agency's aircraft noise annoyance study, called the 'Neighborhood Environmental Survey' (NES), including an overview of the results on its website and the complete 451-page final report. A summary of the results and FAA's briefing to AAAE and other organizations that we prepared yesterday can be found here. In addition, today FAA published a notice and request for comments in the Federal Register, triggering a 60-day comment period for AAAE and industry stakeholders to submit feedback to the agency. The deadline is March 15, 2021. AAAE will be working with airport members and its Environmental Services Committee to respond to the NES survey results and FAA's request for comments.
