Regulatory Alert: President-Elect Biden to Nominate Michael Regan as EPA Administrator

President-elect Joe Biden will nominate Michael Regan to become Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), according to Politico and other news reports this afternoon. Regan is currently serving as Secretary of North Carolina's Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Prior his role at DEQ, Regan served as the Associate Vice President of U.S. Climate and Energy and Southeast Regional Director of the Environmental Defense Fund. A full biography is available here.

Today's news follows another announcement this week that Biden will nominate Brenda Mallory to head the White House's Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). Mallory is currently the Director of Regulatory Policy at the Southern Environmental Law Center. She previously worked as General Counsel for the CEQ during the Obama Administration.
