Regulatory Alert: AAAE Solicits Feedback on Airport Compatible Land Use Planning Draft FAA Advisory Circular

July 19, 2021

AAAE is distributing a survey to members to solicit feedback from the airport community on airport compatible land use planning and the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) recently released Draft Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5190-4B, Airport Compatible Land Use Planning. The updated AC is intended to serve as a resource for airports to use to comply with their grant assurances concerning all compatible land use issues, including obstructions and hazards to airport navigation, airport noise, wildlife and bird hazard attractants, and protection of persons and property on the ground. In response to the Draft AC, FAA is seeking feedback from industry stakeholders on or before August 6, 2021, and will consider all comments as the agency finalizes the guidance document.

You can find AAAE's compatible land use planning survey here. All results will be held as confidential and will only be used for purposes of helping AAAE respond to FAA on this topic. We highly encourage you to provide input before Friday, July 30. AAAE plans to submit comments to the agency before the deadline and encourages airports to consider providing feedback as well.
