Building Runways and Relationships:
Why YPs Should Attend the 2025 Engineering/Airside Track

Serving as the Young Professional Host for the Engineering/Airside Track has been a wonderful opportunity. It has been an excellent experience getting to help with the planning of this exciting track and getting to know so many industry professionals in the process.

The vast scope of the aviation industry can be intimidating to grasp starting out as a young professional (YP). The AAAE/ACC Symposium provides an opportunity to learn more about your own technical specialties as well as all the other aspects of the aviation world. I have enjoyed attending and growing my professional network for the last five years.

The Engineering/Airside track once again has an exciting lineup for you. Learn about some of the latest sustainable practices in Sustainable Airfields—From Planning to Pavements. In Planning for Resiliency—Hoping for the Best, Planning for the Worst, attendees will learn about how airports are adapting to our ever-changing climate and industry needs. During Airside Engineering Hot Topics, you'll hear about recent and upcoming FAA updates and how they impact the aviation industry. Industry professionals will share their recent experiences working around unique construction obstacles in Construction on the Airfield—Lessons Learned from the Trenches. Attendees will hear about new and emerging technology assisting in planning, design, and construction in With a Little Help from my (Technology) Friends—Utilizing Technology and Tools to Help Improve Designs.

Along with learning about the exciting changes in our industry from the insightful professionals, attendees also have the best networking opportunities in our industry. Taking part in the Young Professional activities has been a great way for me to meet my cohorts and the next generation of decision makers in aviation.

Join us for the Engineering/Airside Track at the 2025 AAAE/ACC Airport Planning, Design, and Construction Symposium!
