About the Course

This training is designed for airport board members, commissioners, and airport executives. It will cover key topics essential for effective orientation and training, including the roles and responsibilities of board members, their level of authority, and expectations regarding meetings and member conduct (parliamentary procedures and open meetings laws). Additionally, the session will delve into the unique aspects of the airport industry. To support the development and implementation of comprehensive airport board orientation and training, a collection of crucial documents and information will be provided.

About the Instructor

Dr. Kim Kenville

Kimberly A. Kenville, Ph.D., C.M.

University of North Dakota

Dr. Kim Kenville is a professor at the University of North Dakota (UND) and has taught the airport management (BBA) curriculum for the past 27 years. Prior to teaching at UND, Kim worked as a noise abatement intern for the MSP Airport for airport operations at DTW and MKE airports working airside, landside, and terminal operations. In 2005, Kim earned her PhD in Organizational Behavior and Leadership and went on to develop the master’s and PhD programs in the aviation department at UND, where she was the graduate director for 10 years.   She opened Kim Kenville Consulting, a DBE certified consultancy, in 2008 and has authored or co-authored 12 different ACRP reports, sat on various panels and has been a member of the Aviation Gasoline consensus study for the National Academies. She is a governor-appointee for the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission and has served as chair and vice chair in the past. Currently, Dr. Kenville is the vice-chair of the ACRP Oversight Committee and is a regular training consultant for AAAE teaching Airports 101 and the Certified Member (CM) program.  Kim is a private pilot, is a certified member of AAAE and she and her husband, Jon Scraper have five children.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Webinar registration fees are non-refundable. A recording of the webinar will still be provided to cancelled registrations after the live webinar occurs. For all inquiries regarding cancellations, please contact the AAAE Training Department by email at training@aaae.org. By submitting a completed online registration, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the cancellation policy and that the cancellation policy for this webinar supersedes the general cancellation policy noted in AAAE Event Participant Terms and Conditions.

Registrations, cancellations and refund requests must be submitted in writing. All cancellation requests for registrations received on or before Tuesday, January 14, 2025, are subject to a $150 cancellation processing fee; approved refunds will be processed after the meeting takes place. There will be no refunds of any kind after this date. Cancellations with outstanding invoices received within two weeks of the start of the conference, will require full payment on the balance due. Refunds will not be provided, and balance dues will not be forgiven for no-shows. Substitutions within the same conference will be accepted without penalties. The difference between member and non-member price will be charged if a non-member replaces a member. Substitutions will be accepted with a written request to Training@aaae.org. The individual substituting for the original registrant is responsible for all financial obligations (balance due; difference in fees due to membership type) associated with that substitution. For all inquiries regarding cancellations, refunds and substitutions, please contact the AAAE Training Department at 703-824-0500 Option 4 or email Training@aaae.org. By submitting a completed registration form, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the cancellation policy.

NOTE: Confirmation letters will be emailed to attendees within one business day of registration. If you have not received an email confirmation of your registration within 1 day of registering, and you enrolled at least two hours prior to the online event, please contact the AAAE Training Department at training@aaae.org. Please note failure to receive a confirmation letter before an event will not be grounds for a refund.

Civilian/Military Airport Connection (CMAC)

What is CMAC?

The Civilian/Military Airport Connection (CMAC) program helps separating military personnel and new veterans acclimate from managing military airfields to the dynamic and complex commercial-use airport environment.

There are four components to the program:

  1. Professional transition workshop
  2. One airport certification course - choice of ACE Airfield Operations or Certified Member (C.M.)
  3. One year membership in AAAE
  4. Airport job shadowing
