GBAC STAR Facility
Accreditation
GBAC STAR is the gold standard for facilities that have built a high-level and sustainable Infectious Disease Management Plan (IDMP) that outlines the procedures and protocols for managing and mitigating infectious disease outbreaks. This IDMP is built on continuous improvement through a cycle of planning, implementing, reviewing, and improving an organization's processes and actions to meet its communicable Disease plans, biosafety, and biosecurity goals.
At the height of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, AAAE partnered with the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a division of ISSA, to encourage members to achieve GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation. That partnership continues today. Not only are GBAC STAR-accredited facilities equipped and ready for what’s next, they’re also able to adapt quickly and withstand challenges.
Why GBAC STAR
