Cathryn Stephens, A.A.E.
Cathryn Stephens, A.A.E., is the director of the Eugene Airport in Oregon. In her more than 19 years at EUG, she served as marketing director, deputy director, and assistant airport director before taking on the airport director role in March 2020, overseeing all aspects of operating a safe, secure, and efficient small hub commercial service airport – and key economic driver in the Western Oregon region.
Cathryn currently serves as chair of the State Aviation Board in Oregon. As an Accredited Airport Executive with the American Association of Airport Executives, she serves as co-chair of the Policy Review Council, past chair of the AAAE F. Russell Hoyt National Airports Conference, and co-chair of the AAAE ACT Advanced Air Mobility Working Group. She previously held positions on the AAAE Board of Directors and as chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She is past president of the Northwest Chapter of AAAE and of the Oregon Airport Management Association.
For the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies of Science, Cathryn currently serves as chair of the Airport Cooperative Research Program Oversight Committee and has chaired several ACRP panels. Cathryn previously held a courtesy faculty appointment at Oregon State University, co-teaching Airport Planning and Design, a graduate level course for the Civil Engineering Department. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Technical Journalism from OSU and a Master of Science in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon.
