IAAE Competency Building Services Program (CBSP): An IAAE/ASI Institute Partnership

For airport executives to succeed, they must be adept in governance, infrastructure, operations, and especially human capital, despite budget constraints. People are an airport's most valuable asset, and investing in their skills leads to significant productivity improvements. Audits often reveal gaps in human capital, particularly in management competencies. To address this, the industry is moving towards Competency Building Master Plans, which align training with organizational goals and require clear ROI justifications, marking a shift from traditional training approaches. These plans are integral to the entrepreneurial culture at leading airports. Additionally, ICAO endorses competency-based training as a method to improve aviation industry learning effectively.

To help your airport address these areas, IAAE has partnered with ASI-Institute to offer the Competency Building Services Program (CBSP). CBSP addresses organization-specific competency development of airport enterprises in the context of the challenges posed by the anticipated global traffic growth and industry turbulence. The services comprise managerial competency gap analysis using the Airport Management Competency Assessment Test (AMCAT), delivery of customized competency-based workshops, courses, certificates complemented by study tours in response to priority needs of enterprises, as well as best practices implementation executive coaching.
